Every Crown Holds a Spell examines the transformative power of adornment and the quiet authority embedded in what we choose to wear on our heads. Each hat functions as a “crown” — a vessel of identity, ritual, and projection. Through layers of fabric, lace, and shadow, the face becomes both shielded and revealed, negotiating visibility and mystery.
The work explores how objects of fashion transcend mere decoration; they operate as symbolic architectures that shape persona and perception. In veiling the human form, these portraits invoke the psychological act of self-construction — where presence is mediated by concealment.
Blurring boundaries between fashion, sculpture, and performance, the series studies how visual language and material texture can enchant, distort, or empower. Each image holds its own spell: a moment where the mundane becomes mythic, and the act of wearing becomes a form of becoming.
